New music this week: Music Sounds from former Pezband frontman Mimi Betinis; Mean Old Twister from Radio Birdman's pilot Deniz Tek; a pair of superswell releases--The Dance Divine by Pacific Soul Ltd. and New Love Environment by Rob Martinez--on the ever-reliable Karma Frog label; and a cool new record called All This And More from NYC rockin' pop veteran Steven Bakur. For new discoveries of old music, there's Big Star's Complete Third, plus The MGM Singles Collection by Micky Dolenz, which contains not only those early '70s singles, but also some terrific sides Mr. Magic Fingers recorded in the '90s, and some more recent collaborations with Circe Link and Christian Nesmith. Take that, Wizard Glick! For this week's TIRnRR, we gleefully and willfully mixed all of these with old faves, recent faves (like Conrad by The Legal Matters), and soon-to-be faves. That's what radio is supposed to do. Right now.
