More Bologna About THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO, VOLUME 4
Our CD has a code number
It's PURR 2061
Our CD has a mast'ring date
It's June, Day Twenty-One
We're working under moon and sun
To get this whole damned thing all done
And Kool Kat Musik is the one
'Cause summer music should be fun
And that's no bologna.
(Great. Now I'm hungry.)
We can take one artist off our redacted list, as This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 4 welcomes The Hit Squad to its already-stellar lineup. The Hit Squad was an early '80s combo that included bassist Tommy O'Reilly and guitarist Derek Knott (both former members of Syracuse new wave Fave Raves The Most), along with drummer Tim Carr and singer/keyboardist Nancy O. "Best Of Me" was written by Tommy, and was once intended to be The Most's second single, but that wasn't to be. The Hit Squad's killer version was recorded in 1980, and it makes its CD debut on TIRnRR#4.
We're gathering the last pieces 'n' bits all together. There's still one more local artist we haven't revealed, though I betcha most of our listeners have figured out who he is. Don't be scared; it's only vinyl. Well, it's a CD, but it's the thought that counts. Here's your updated information on the pop compilation you're dyin' to hear:
