Status Report: THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO, Volume 4
Busy, busy day today, as I try to complete the text package (liner notes and credits) for our now-imminent compilation CD, This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 4. Dana's working on the artwork (CD cover pictured above), and Ray Gianchetti at Kool Kat Musik is patiently waiting for us to finally deliver the damned thing.
But most have the hurdles have been cleared. There were issues with two of the tracks on our original master, but they have been corrected, and everything sounds terrific. The sequence of the CD's last two tracks was inadvertently switched in the remastering, but we actually like the new sequencing better; it seems appropriate to end the compilation with a song called "Home On The Radio," so that was a happy accident. The re-sequencing still required another master (since the original closing track had a long end groove of silence that we didn't care about removing previously), and that final final master is now in our hands. The corrected track listing appears below.
While you're waiting for TIRnRR # 4, we're happy to announce that Volume 3 is now available as a download for the first time, thanks to the ever-fab Keith Klingensmith at Futureman Records. Not only can you download Volume 3 (the original album plus the 13-track bonus disc), you can still get the otherwise-rare Volume 1 and the common-as-dirt (yet still fabulous) Volume 2, with all profits going to benefit our radio home at Spark Syracuse.
Dana and I are so proud of this new compilation, and so pleased with the end result. We can't wait for you to hear it. Information on ordering should follow soon, along with a chance to sample these sounds on our Reverbnation page. And I'll be telling you about each of these tracks individually right here on Boppin' (Like The Hip Folks Do). The time is near. This, my friends, is rock 'n' roll radio.
