From 1967, here's the second of artist Neal Adams' stint at the drawing board for the final four issues of DC's The Adventures Of Bob Hope. You can read the previous issue here. I will try to present the remaining two issues in the near future. I'm sorry to say that I don't have scans of any of the earlier Bob Hope comics.
And dig the DC house ads! And also the ad for the Fall '67 CBS Saturday morning line-up. The success of ABC's Batman series inspired a full-on embrace of adventure heroes for the Tiffany Network's cartoon offerings in '66, and that continued in '67 with new shows Shazzan!, Moby Dick And The Mighty Mightor, and The Herculoids, the return of the great Jonny Quest and '66 holdovers The Lone Ranger and Frankenstein Jr. And The Impossibles, and the debut of The Superman-Aquaman Hour Of Adventure, with rotating appearances by The Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, The Atom,The Teen Titans, and The Justice League Of America. Yeah, baby!
It's unclear who holds the rights to this material, but The Adventures Of Bob Hope is presumed to be copyright the respective owner(s). Its appearance here is intended as fair use. As I said before, it's unfortunate that rights issues will likely prevent DC's The Adventures Of Bob Hope and The Adventures Of Jerry Lewis from ever being reprinted; they're decent humor comics on the whole, and they deserve to be preserved.
