Every August, right before my daughter returns to college, she joins me on This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio for the annual Meghan & Carl Show, as we merge our disparate and desperate musical tastes into an irresistible back-n-forth that makes whiplash fun. Tonight is the scheduled date for this year's Meghan & Carl Show, and I've been looking forward to it for months.
Unfortunately, the rubber bands that hold Westcott Radio together are still tangled and rotten, so our webcast remains disabled. You can't listen to This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio live tonight.
But this annual gig means a lot to me. So we're gonna record a new show tonight, and make it available for download as soon as possible thereafter.
As always, Meghan will come armed with her favored selections of metal, pop, and country music, and maybe a Broadway show tune if she feels inclined; I'm going to counter with concert memories from my Virtual Ticket Stub Gallery, playing a bunch of tracks from performers I've seen live at some point in my 40 years of rock 'n' roll show-goin'. We'll play songs, we'll banter, and Dana will roll his eyes Heavenward. Meghan's senior year at Ithaca College begins shortly; while I hope there will be further Meghan & Carl Shows in the future, this is likely the last one of its end-of-summer kind. Time is the enemy.
So join us! If you're on Facebook, even though you can't listen in to the actual live show, you can be a part of our TIR'N'RR chat group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/135175896551553/. We'll be talking about the show as we record it, and posting YouTube videos of as many songs as we can from the playlist in progress. If you're not on Facebook, this is the time to sign up. Interact with us, baby! Sunday night, approximately 9 to Midnight Eastern.
