One month from today will be This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio's 25th anniversary. Although the Dana & Carl radio shows date all the way back to January of 1992, TIRnRR itself commenced on December 27th, 1998. No, I don't have any idea how we're still here.
But we are. Sunday nights, playing new stuff and old stuff, pounding tracks we think should be hit records, filling in with unexpected spins of things we hope will delight and amaze.
This week, here's to twenty-four years and eleven months of whatever the hell it is we do. Turn it up. Celebrate.
NEXT WEEK: Speaking of celebrating, it's time to pay tribute to the season! Just maybe not the season you're expecting, as TIRnRR offers a special show COUNTERPROGRAMMING THE HOLIDAYS: SUMMER IN DECEMBER!, a three-hour salute to summer music. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow? Not on our watch, kids. Surf's UP. And this is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on yet another Sunday night in Syracuse this week.
This show is available as a podcast.
This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl airs Sunday nights from 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FM, streaming at SPARK stream, and on the Radio Garden app as WESTCOTT RADIO. Recent shows are archived at Westcott Radio
