About Me

My photo

I'm the co-host of THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO with Dana & Carl (Sunday nights, 9 to Midnight Eastern, www.westcottradio.org).  As a freelance writer, I contributed to Goldmine magazine from 1986-2006, wrote liner notes for Rhino Records' compilation CD Poptopia!  Power Pop Classics Of The '90s, and for releases by The Flashcubes, The Finkers, Screen Test, 1.4.5., and Jack "Penetrator" Lipton.  I contributed to the books Bubblegum Music Is The Naked Truth, Shake Some Action, Lost In The Grooves, and MusicHound Rock, and to DISCoveries, Amazing Heroes, The Comics Buyer's Guide, Yeah Yeah Yeah, Comics Collector, The Buffalo News, and The Syracuse New Times.  I also wrote the liner notes for the four THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO compilation CDs, because, well, who could stop me?  My standing offer to write liner notes for a Bay City Rollers compilation has remained criminally ignored.  Still intend to write and sell a Batman story someday.

TIRnRR # 4: Your Convenient Links

Have we been been beatin' the drums a bit too loudly on behalf of our new compilation CD This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 4? Well, we're enthused. And we want everyone to know about it!

So here's a collection of convenient links related to the power, the glory, and the majesty of TIRnRR # 4.

We begin, of course, with the most important link of all: BUY THE CD!!

Then there's our Pre-Release Hype

The official liner notes

The annotated Track By Track: The Complete Supplemental Liner Notes

And reviews as they arrive:

If you see more reviews of TIRnRR # 4, please let us know. This list will be updated if/when circumstances say they oughtta be.

If you have the CD and enjoy it, please help spread its rockin' pop Gospel. Wouldn't hurt our feelings if some folks out there wanted to request TIRnRR # 4 airplay on some other radio outlets, particularly Little Steven's Underground Garage. Shouldn't hurt to ask, right?

All of the work that went into the making of This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 4 was well, well worth it. I think this is our best compilation yet, even as it follows a series of three previous superlative sets. Will there ever be a Volume 5? Dana say yea! As for me, I say...um, lemme get some rest for a bit. In the mean time, enjoy Volume 4, tell your friends to buy Volume 4, and make new friends by telling total strangers to buy Volume 4. And tune in to hear us Sunday nights from 9 to Midnight Eastern at www.westcottradio.org We serve at the pleasure of the prescient.
