THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO: Guitars Vs. Rayguns

My vulgar sci-fi rock 'n' roll comedy short story "Guitars Vs. Rayguns" was published on Wednesday, a rock 'em-sock 'em prose bonus in the pages of the AHOY Comics funnybook Billionaire Island # 5. If you'd like to buy your very own copy of this hilarious three-chord laugh-riot, you can use Comic Shop Locator to find the comic book retailer nearest you. Further details were posted here.

So, what does this nonsense have to do with This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio? Well! "Guitars Vs. Rayguns" contains gratuitous name-checks of 27 righteous rockin' pop acts, from Chuck Berry to Pop Co-Op. On Sunday night's show, we're going to play selections by as many of those 27 acts as we can, offering a sneak peek at a few of the tunes my space-faring rock 'n' roll bar band likes to cover in between random raygun blasts. Do not expect to hear "Freebird."

Slappin' together 26 to 27 songs only accounts for about half of a three-hour show, so Dana has filled the space in between with another fantastic assortment of cool, mingling freely with shots of my intergalactic combo's preferred crowd-pleasers. Set your controls for the heart of Sunday night, August 30th, from 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FMhttp://sparksyracuse.org/

(And if you think this is overkill on behalf of some silly thing I wrote, just wait until my Greatest Record Ever Made! book is published. Nothing succeeds like excess!)
