This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 1204

Shortly after I completed my portion of the preproduction for this week's show and turned the files over to Dana so's he could transmogrify 'em into a radio show, we heard the news that power pop great Dwight Twilley had passed. We considered editing in one of Twilley's classic tracks at show's end, with the intention of following with a proper Twilley tribute next week. We're still going to do that Twilley tribute on October 29th. We decided to leave this week's show as-is.

Dwight Twilley's legacy deserves its own celebration. That celebration will come next week, and it will be on fire. Our power pop community has lost a giant, and we'll offer our humble but heartfelt salute in our next program. Our condolences to all of Dwight's family and friends, as we mourn one of our heroes.

For today, we're celebrating the Grip Weeds, as we prepare to welcome them for their first-ever Syracuse show this Friday October 27th at The Lost Horizon, on a rock 'em-sock 'em bill with 1.4.5., Perilous, Preacher, and Kenne Highland's Airforce. We're giddy with anticipation for that show, and we figured that enthusiasm should stand on its own.

Time is the enemy. We must enjoy what we have for the fleeting moments we have to enjoy. Every minute. The sound is in you. Your eyes sparkle like a rainbow quartz.

That I remember.

This is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on another Sunday night in Syracuse this week.
