Fake THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO Playlist: Second-Hand Sound

This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl is simply too large a concept to be neatly contained within a mere three-hour weekly time slot. Hence these occasional fake TIRnRR playlists, detailing shows we're never really going to do...but could.

Trash becomes treasure in appreciative hands. Second-Hand Sound examines used records I picked up over the years, albums that someone else discarded as unwanted or unworthy. My opinion differed from theirs.

I'm a tiny bit surprised to see I've only posted one entry so far in my used-LP appreciation series Second-Hand Sound. Given my sheer mass of second-hand (or more) vinyl acquisitions over the decades, it seems I oughtta get back to that for more blogifyin' awready. I posted my remembrance of picking up The Monkees' Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. album for half a buck at Mike's Sound Center in 1977, and I have place-holders set for potential further Second-Hand Sound posts about The Turtles, The Velvet Underground, and another pair of Monkees LPs. The subject interests me, so I will be returning to it for studies of these and other used-bin revelations.

In the mean time, all of those used LPs, combined with a whole bunch of used 45s and CDs, provide fodder for yet another fake This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio playlist. There will be some surface noise. Yeah, even on the CDs. That's just how I roll.

This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl--y'know, the real one--plays Sunday nights from 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse on The Spark WSPJ-LP 103.3 and 93.7 FM, and on the web at http://sparksyracuse.org/
