Fake THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO playlist: Three Of A Kind (Part One)

This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl is simply too large a concept to be neatly contained within a mere three-hour weekly time slot. Hence these occasional fake TIRnRR playlists, detailing shows we're never really going to do...but could.

This is actually a playlist we could do, though I doubt we'll ever get around to it. This playlist consists of a series of three-in-a-row spins, each spotlighting a single artist. You've got three songs by The Kinks, followed by three songs by The Isley Brothers, etc. We did something along the same lines several years ago, with a show of twin spins (billed as just like your classic rock station's Two For Tuesday, except it ain't Tuesday, and we don't suck).

Why wouldn't we do this? I dunno. Maybe too much work, maybe too much sacrifice of the essential ping-pong nature of TIRnRR. It still makes for a fun exercise today. And we'll have a slight variation on the format for tomorrow's post.

This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl--y'know, the real one--plays Sunday nights from 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse on The Spark WSPJ-LP 103.3 and 93.7 FM, and on the web at http://sparksyracuse.org/
