POP-A-LOOZA: 45 Single Sleeve Cavalcade # 1: Gerber Music Edition

Each week, the pop culture website Pop-A-Looza shares some posts from my vast 'n' captivating Boppin' (Like The Hip Folks Do) archives. The latest shared post is an annotated gallery of the picture sleeves from five singles I bought at Gerber Music decades ago, 45 Single Sleeve Cavalcade # 1: Gerber Music edition.

This is the second of two Gerber Music reminiscences shared at Pop-A-Looza this week, following Tuesday's post remembering the late Bill Gerber and his wonderful record stores. A third piece, concocting a hypothetic radio playlist comprised of songs I bought at Gerber, can be seen here

45 Single Sleeve Cavalcade is a concept I oughtta re-visit in the near future, but I've only written this one so far. And, as I mentioned earlier this week, I should consider writing about some of the other record retailers that loomed large in my legend, from Record Revolution in Cleveland Heights to Desert Shore Records in Syracuse.

But for today, it's all about Gerber Music. Some thoughts about five 45 rpm singles I bought at Gerber provide the content for the latest Boppin' Pop-A-Looza.
