It may seem a cruel circumstance that the first radio show we've recorded since I lost my Mom happens to be our Christmas show. But it is no more cruel than the day-to-day ache so many experience throughout the 365 days the calendar gives us, a feeling perhaps magnified at the holidays, but with us all of the time. People and things that went before. You know we'll often stop and think about them. In my life. In our lives.
But we can be okay. Not always, and maybe not as often as we need to be. But sometimes. Honestly, I'm as okay as anyone in that regard. I treasure what was, what still is, and what still may be.
Be kind. Be merry if merry suits, and be understanding toward those who can't bring themselves to embrace the joy of the season. If you're suffering, you are not alone. There is light somewhere. We'll find it together.
Merry Christmas, my friends. Music helps me feel okay. This is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on a Sunday night in Syracuse this week.
