Countdown Addendum, Part 1: Complete ranking of most-played tracks from THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO compilation CDs

On Sunday, This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio presented a countdown show (also available as a podcast), playing back the 56 most-played tracks from our TIRnRR compilation albums. The whole thing was our friend Fritz Van Leaven's idea, and we thank him again for coming up with the concept, tracking the stats, and executing one hell of a fantastic radio playlist.

Fritz prepared two slightly different sets of countdown stats: one ranking TIRnRR compilation tracks by accrued spins that had been originally credited to one or another of our seven--SEVEN!!--individual CDs, and one ranking the tracks by accrued play from all sources. We went with the latter approach; we figure these wonderful tracks have lives much greater than their appearances on our compilations. We wanted this countdown show to reflect their overall spins in the grander scheme of The Best Three Hours Of Radio On The Whole Friggin' Planet.

Today, we present the complete countdown ranking we used to build this week's playlist. Tomorrow, we'll see the complete ranking for the alternate countdown.

BUT...! Before we get to the rankings, we remind you to fill in your collection of our irresistible TIRnRR compilations. The first and third volumes are now only available as digital albums (though the digital version of Volume 3 includes its long-outta-print bonus disc), and the others can still be purchased in CD or digital editions:

Volume 1: download
Volume 2: CD or download
Volume 3: download
Volume 4: CD or download
Waterloo Sunset--Benefit For This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio:  CD or download
***And NOW AVAILABLE! This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 5!***

And now: our complete countdown ranking. The alternate countdown ranking will post here tomorrow.
