This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 1172: A TIRnRR Compilation COUNTDOWN!!!

Hey! A TIRnRR countdown that doesn't include the Beatles, the Ramones, the Monkees, or the Kinks! And it still rocks and pop in all the right places.

Our friend and intrepid stats man Fritz Van Leaven came up with the idea: a countdown of the most-played tracks from our many This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio compilation albums. We released a total of five TIRnRR collections from 2005-2017, a seventeen-year span. Volume 3 originally came with a bonus disc (still included on the digital album released by Futureman Records), and in 2019 some of our talented friends put together their own compilation on our behalf, Waterloo Sunset--Benefit For This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio. Yeah, we have the best friends. These seven discs total somewhere north of 140 tracks worth of rockin' pop sublimeness, and we've enjoyed playin' 'em for you on the radio. Pride isn't a sin when it's justified: our compilations are as great as any pop compilations done by anybody at any time.

(Oh, and of course the many fine This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio compilation albums are still available, each full of that rockin' pop sound you crave. A portion of all sales benefit our perpetually cash-strapped community radio project:

We play the hits, even when they're, y'know, OUR hits. Sort of. This week, it was time to play some of them again. Consider this, in its way, This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio's Greatest Hits.

From This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 3's "I Don't Wanna Know About It" by Uncle Green at # 56 through the all-time TIRnRR Fave Rave "Highway Lines" by Mannix at # 1, these are the 56 TIRnRR compilation tracks that have accrued the most airplay on this little mutant radio show. We love 'em all, each and every one, just as we love the many great tracks that bubbled under the countdown, and just as we love...well, all the stuff we play, each and every week. The Best Three Hours Of Radio On The Whole Friggin' Planet. We must be doing something right.

Count on it.
