This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 1175

My book Gabba Gabba Hey! A Conversation With The Ramones will be published about a month from now. To celebrate, the weekly TIRnRRs throughout April will contain a series of four-song spotlights on the Ramones, distributed throughout the playlist. This week's show includes my # 1 individual favorite track from each of the Ramones' classic first four albums, Ramones, Leave Home, Rocket To Russia, and Road To Ruin

That thread will continue next week, with my fave raves from End Of The Century, Pleasant Dreams, Subterranean Jungle, and Too Tough To Die. Animal Boy, Halfway To Sanity, Brain Drain, and Mondo Bizarro will be covered the following week. April 23rd will finish off the Ramones' studio albums with Acid Eaters and ¡Adios Amigos! plus my favorite non-LP Ramones track and my favorite Ramones movie soundtrack number--gee, I wonder what that will be--and April 30th will serve up some samples from the Ramones' live albums. Additional Ramones programming will carry on in May, culminating in a special HEY! WE'RE THE RAMONES! edition of TIRnRR during Memorial Day weekend.

This weekly radio show is built upon the foundation of what Dana and I learned from listening to our musical heroes over a span of decades, especially from listening to the Ramones and the Beatles. Not a Ramones fan? Listen to 'em again in the context of what else we play, and see if we can't change your mind. Already a Ramones fan? Hey, us too! Come hear some of your well-loved Ramones tracks alongside some other stuff--ALL the stuff!--you may dig as well.

Do you remember rock 'n' roll radio? No need to just remember it; it's still here. It's RIGHT HERE. 1-2-3-4. This is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on another Sunday night in Syracuse this week.
