As I write this on Wednesday, I've just realized that it was one year ago today--Valentine's Day 2023--that I made the official announcement of my then-forthcoming book Gabba Gabba Hey! A Conversation With The Ramones. You can read that initial announcement here. The book was published in May, and you can buy yourself a copy of the book here.
The dizzying, delirious, and occasionally delightful process of seeing my first book published has been...yes, dizzying, delirious, and occasionally delightful. HEY-HO! I summarized the experience here. I'm still awaiting word of how well (or ill) the book has sold so far, but I'm cautiously optimistic that it did okay.
I have another book written, though its path forward ain't quite mapped out yet. And I'm about to start work on another book, details of which are so secret I'm not sure my own security clearance is sufficient for me to know much about it. SHHH! Forget I mentioned it.
On this Valentine's Day morning, with my coffee in hand, breakfast pastry dispatched, and the recording of my parts for this week's exciting episode of This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio about to commence, I had originally intended to run this week's 10 Songs in this Thursday Boppin' blog spot.
But I'm postponing 10 Songs, presumably to run on Friday. Today will be all about the Ramones for me. Yes, like most other days, but more so. I have an unrelated Ramones piece in need of some crafting and attention. What better day to address that than TODAY, on the anniversary of when I publicly announced my Ramones book?
The Ramones changed my life, and that change was for the better. Gabba Gabba Hey. Yep--that still says it all.
