As we approach what would have been John Lennon's 80th birthday this Friday, we'll celebrate that incredible legacy with spins of a few tunes written or co-written by Lennon, some performed by Lennon solo or with The Beatles, and some performed by other artists who know a good tune when they cover it. These tracks will be threaded throughout our usual shenanigans, as we serve up TIRnRR's prerequisite assortment of essential rockin' pop music from the '50s to today. That includes new music from The Wyld Olde Souls and Irene Peña, old music from Chuck Berry and The Velvet Underground, recent music from The Bookends and Jared Lekites, and much more. A splendid time? Guaranteed for all. Sunday night, 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FM, http://sparksyracuse.org/
