Each week, the pop culture website Pop-A-Looza shares some posts from my vast 'n' captivating Boppin' (Like The Hip Folks Do) archives. The latest shared post is my Everlasting First look back at being a teen in the mid '70s, and falling madly in crush with singer Suzi Quatro.
This edition of The Everlasting First has since been rewritten to serve as the basis for the Suzi Quatro chapter in my book, The Greatest Record Ever Made! (Volume 1). My story of falling in love with Suzi's picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone is also told in the first chapter of my rock magazine reminiscence He Buys Every Rock 'n' Roll Book On The Magazine Stand. My cherished Suzi Quatro poster places Suzi Q in my personal poster recollection "Faces On The Wall." She was part of "My 1970s" and my '70s album retrospective "Teenage Wasteland."
Teen pop crushes. There were others before Suzi Q and after Suzi Q. But Suzi Quatro was my # 1 rock 'n' roll crush. And that story provides the latest Boppin' Pop-A-Looza.
