POP-A-LOOZA: KISS

Each week, the pop culture website Pop-A-Looza shares some posts from my vast 'n' captivating Boppin' (Like The Hip Folks Do) archives. The latest shared post is about KISS.

This short piece about KISS was originally the commentary for a This Rock 'n' Roll Radio playlist in 2014, when KISS was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. It later served as one of my earliest blog posts in January of 2016, when I made the rash decision to start a daily blog and was desperate for content to meet that insane goal. Since then, I've written a little bit more about KISS, including a Virtual Ticket Stub Gallery reminiscence of my first KISS concert, a Greatest Record Ever Made! celebration of "Shout It Out Loud," and a brief spotlight on SiriusXM's KISS Army Radio in 2019. KISS has also turned up here in li'l Boppin' bits about my 1970s, my wall posters, live albums, Christmas presents, and boxed sets. KISS was also among the stars of my first attempt at rock journalism in 1978.

KISS isn't my all-time favorite rock 'n' roll group, but I'm always going to have a spot in my heart for them, and I'm always going to dig in my heels and reject the blabbering of anyone who tries to tell me not to like KISS. I'm in charge of what I like and what I don't like. You wanted the best? You got KISS, in the latest Boppin' Pop-A-Looza.
