This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 1246

The format for This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio is listed as POWER POP!, and it's true that we play at least a little (and usually a lot) of power pop almost every week. We also play soul, punk, rock 'n' roll, classic rock, bubblegum, R & B, new wave, garage, girl groups, even the occasional metal, disco, reggae, ska, or country tune, if and when we feel like it. Our power pop is large; it contains multitudes.

This week, we threw in a sublime slice of prog, via a track from Circe Link and Christian Nesmith's wonderful new album Arcana, plus funk from the Meters (covering spaghetti Western soundtrack music!) and doo wop courtesy of the Gladiolas. It all fits within our idea of rock 'n' roll radio, and of what rock 'n' roll radio ought to be.

Why be just one thing? We can have it all. So let's hear it. This is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on another Sunday night in Syracuse this week.

This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl airs Sunday nights from 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FM, streaming at SPARK stream, and on the Radio Garden app as WESTCOTT RADIO. Recent shows are archived at Westcott Radio
