This Saturday, July 20th, the phenomenal rockin' pop force known as the Grip Weeds will return to Syracuse for a can't-miss evening of hooks and harmonies played loud 'n' proud. The Grip Weeds will share the bill with 1.4.5., Perilous, and the Va Va Voodoos, combining for an exciting night of live rock 'n' roll aimed squarely at the always-attractive This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio demographic. Tickets are available here.
I bought tickets. And I bought tickets even though I know I won't be able to stay for the whole show. I have a very important commitment early the next morning, and that commitment means I can't--can't--stay out as late as I'd like to stay out this Saturday night. I'm going to have to miss the great 1.4.5. (which breaks my heart), and I may need to skate out before the Grip Weeds finish doing that thing they do. I hate having to leave early. But the choice is for me to either leave early or bypass going to the show in the first place.
I'm going. I have tickets in hand, and I'll witness as much of the show as I'm able to witness. All we can ask, right? This is gonna be one hell of a hootenanny, and I'm grateful for the chance to experience even some of it.
We open this week's radio extravaganza with the Grip Weeds, we throw in a track apiece from 1.4.5., Perilous, and the Va Va Voodoos, and we exult in the time we have. Time runs out eventually--that's just what time does--but we take whatever time we're allowed.
It's time for music. This is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on another Sunday night in Syracuse this week.
