Our friend (and yours) Ray Paul is playing a free show in Rochester, NY this Wednesday, June 19th, from 5 to 8 pm in Backroom Lounge @ Record Archive, 33 1/3 Rockwood Street 14610. Ray Paul & RPM will be plugging in to play songs from throughout their forty-year resumé, including some gems from the new retrospective CD Bloody Rubbish. Refreshing libations will be available, and the sound of pop music will fill the air. The party commences at 5:00, and Ray Paul & RPM start playin' that Permanent Press Charles Beat at 6 pm. If you're in the area, here's your chance to maybe hear Ray Paul's This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio Pick Hits like "How Do You Know" and "I Need Your Love Tonight," and I tell ya, their cover of "Pretty Flamingo" does Manfred Mann proud.
What's that? You don't know Ray Paul...?! Glorioski! Here's your chance to rectify that. You can find out a little background on Ray Paul's relationship with TIRnRR in this piece promoting Ray's contribution to our 2017 CD compilation This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 4. You can also read some compelling hype for Bloody Rubbish right here. For those in the mood for a barely-related tangent, you can even study my account of the day Ray came to Syracuse and hitched a ride with us to get to the Paul McCartney show. Then go see Ray Paul & RPM. Tell 'em Dana & Carl sent you.
