This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 887

With an opportunity to take my lovely wife Brenda to see the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire in concert, I decided to skip this week's Best Three Hours yadda yadda Friggin' Planet to groove in Boogie Wonderland instead. EWF was incredibly tight, and it was a fantastic show. But it looks like I missed a likewise-fantastic edition of TIRnRR, as Dana pulled out all the stops to assemble perfect radio. Armed with Flashcubes Forever, the new limited-release 40th anniversary two-disc celebration of Syracuse's own power pop powerhouse The Flashcubes, and with our own irresistible new compilation This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 4, Mr. Bonn could do no wrong. I'm looking forward to hearing this one on playback.

Live music's a good idea, too. Howzabout some live Flashcubes? The Flashcubes' 40th Anniversary Show is this Friday, September 1st, at Funk 'n Waffles in Syracuse. This show will sell out, possibly before Friday. It's The Flashcubes, with special guests The Trend and Maura & the Bright Lights, and your hosts Dana & Carl. To avoid the life-long regret of missing this show, get your tickets now: https://funknwaffles.ticketfly.com/event/1530581-flashcubes-trend-ohms-syracu. And this is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on a Sunday night in Syracuse this week.

This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl streams Sunday night from 9 to Midnight Eastern, exclusively at www.westcottradio.org

Our new compilation CD This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 4 is now shipping from Kool Kat Musik. Many TIRnRR fans are already enjoying this CD; why should you be left out? Buy it at http://shop.koolkatmusik.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=KKM&Category_Code=PO
