1.4.5. returns home to Syracuse
On Friday May 25, 1.4.5.
returns home to play at Funk ‘n Waffles, their first CNY show in 3 years, and with
a four-piece lineup. 1.4.5. blast out a loud
sound located in the musical real estate somewhere between Chuck Berry and The
Sex Pistols. 1.4.5. will play two sets (10 PM and 12:30 PM).
Also on the bill, 61 Ghosts (from Boston ) and local heroes The Mickie Brown Band. The night will close with
a few songs by an all-star outfit of nobodies, The Johnny Thunders Orchestra.
1.4.5. consists of former
Flashcube Paul Armstrong (white guitar /vocal), Tom O’Riley (bass, vocal),
Bobcat Rawks (black guitar), and Ducky Carlisle (drums), and they played just
about every rock club along the East Coast between 1980 and 1988 during which
time the band released the Pink Invasion EP, relocated to Boston, and released
full length LP Rhythm n' Booze. In 2014, the band reformed to play
occasional shows and released full length CD 3 Chords & A Cloud of Dust and regularly play their engaging brand of punk-pop in Boston and New York .
For the Funk 'n Waffles show, Judd Williams (who has played in Boston
legendary bands The Real Kids and The Lyres) is filling in for Ducky, due to
conflicts with his Grammy award-winning record producing career.
61 Ghosts, from Boston, who
have been garnering critical acclaim for their recent live shows and recordings,
feature guitar-slinger Joe Mazzari. Over the years, Joe has fronted The Daughters and Two Saints (who played
with 1.4.5. at The Lost Horizon in 1988). He also recorded and toured with
Johnny Thunders of The New York Dolls and The Heartbreakers fame for three years, and
appeared on three of Johnny's albums. Joe and the Daughters backed Mr. Thunders
at his chaotically memorable show at The Jab in 1983.
Showtime is 10PM.
