Y'know, the fact that we bill this little mutant record hop as The Best Three Hours Of Radio On The Whole Friggin' Planet offers some subtle clue that we tend to be pretty damned sure of ourselves. But man, look at our playlists! The playlists smoke, consistently and unerringly. And where there's smoke, well, there are DJs who are on fire. In a good way.
And since that playlist speaks for itself, let's spare a second to speak on behalf of The Spoon, the weekly podcast hosted by Robbie Rist, Chris Jackson, and Thom Bowers. The Men Of The Spoon invited Dana & Carl to join the healthy mayhem of their show last week, and we were honored to participate. See, we feel taller whenever someone notices us. After all, our self-assured dominion only extends for three hours on a Sunday night; beyond that, well, we're more the shy and reserved type. No, really! It was a gas to have an excuse to expand our manic hegemony for an extra hour this week, courtesy of The Spoon. You can hear the irresistible result at The Spoon Episode 433: We Cook Our Hot Dogs. Humility is an alien concept for us, but we humbly thank Robbie, Chris, and Thom for making us feel popular.
And now, back to US! This is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on a Sunday night in Syracuse this week.
This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl airs Sunday nights from 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FM, and on the web at http://sparksyracuse.org/ You can read all about this show's long and weird history here: Boppin' The Whole Friggin' Planet (The History Of THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO).
