Mixed emotions at best. As we mourn the sudden passing of Syracuse rock 'n' roll stalwart JACK LIPTON, we'll raise a fist in his memory while spinning just a few of the great tracks he made as a solo artist and as the voice of THE PENETRATORS. But it's still a giddy, happy rockin' pop radio show, our sadness notwithstanding. We have new music from THE CATHOLIC GIRLS, STRANGERS IN A STRANGE LAND, DOLPH CHANEY, THE VAPOUR TRAILS, ORBIS MAX, STEVENSON AND COMPANY, SUPER 8, RINEHARTS, ROOFTOP SCREAMERS, and NICK BERTLING, boppin' alongside stuff by THE FLASHCUBES, PRINCE, CYNDI LAUPER, THE MONKEES, THE RAMONES, THE POPTARTS, AMY RIGBY, RUFUS, TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS, BOBBY SUTLIFF, GRAHAM PARKER AND THE GOLDTOPS, THE ISLEY BROTHERS, BLONDIE, and more. It's an Irish wake for an unrepentant rock 'n' roller. It starts with the penetratin' voice of Jack Lipton. Sunday night, 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FM; webcast is still on the DL, so keep checking the archive at http://westcottradio.org/ The weekend stops HERE.
