This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl is simply too large a concept to be neatly contained within a mere three-hour weekly time slot. Hence these occasional fake TIRnRR playlists, detailing shows we're never really going to do...but could.
Today's playlist gathers together all of the opening and closing tracks from each of our real-world 2023 shows so far, in sequence. Well...almost all of our opening and closing tracks. Although no rules apply here, we're working within the same parameters we have to observe on our actual shows.
And those requirements limit us to a maximum of four tracks per artist per playlist. Well! Both the Ramones and the Beatles have logged waaaay more than a mere four appearances each in this year's opening and closing slots. So this playlist skips tracks we played by the American Beatles and Her Majesty's Ramones once they reached their legal limit. We also skipped tracks that were played in those spots more than once.
This playlist only used tracks we played at the opening and closing of the main part of a show; it excludes bonus tracks played after we've signed off for the week, the encore-signaling WAITWAITWAITWAITWAITWAIT! moment just before Midnight.
I dig this playlist as a neat snapshot of what we've done on TIRnRR over the course of 2023 so far. More music awaits.
Start to finish.
