This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio's 25th annual Countdown show is in the books, and it's available as a podcast. A million-billion-gazillion thanks to Fritz Van Leaven for keeping track of our stats, and granting us this giddy opportunity to play back what we played a lot in 2023. And congratulations to the Flashcubes, whose Pop Masters album includes our single most-played track in 2023, a Cubic cover of the Motors' "Forget About You."

Given the fact that I began last year knowing that my book Gabba Gabba Hey! A Conversation With The Ramones was to be published in the spring, it was proper--and inevitable--that 2023 would be my Year of the Ramones. With 90 spins in 2023, the Ramones were untouchable and uncatchable at # 1.
