This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 1106

Listen. The snow is falling.

Although it's already December, and our Christmas show is just two weeks away, I'm not quite ready to play Christmas music yet. For now, when holiday music comes on the radio, I change the channel. It's not a value judgement; if you happen to be in the Christmas spirit, I say you oughtta be free to dig what you dig. It's just not what I want to hear. At the moment. New Christmas music has begun to accumulate in the ol' In Box. I'll listen to some of it eventually. That mood has not yet manifested. For me.

Nonetheless, we did make a little bit of an exception to open this week's show, kicking off with the virtual B-side from the new Christmas single by the mighty Librarians With Hickeys: a sublimely pop cover of Yoko Ono's "Listen, The Snow Is Falling." Not exactly Christmas music, but just the right sound as the calendar settles into its final page of the year.

The calendar's pages sometimes tend to flutter by a bit too quickly for my taste. But that's me. Whether you're lighting your tree, finishing your eight days of candles, celebrating (or preparing to celebrate) whatever other magic you hold dear, or just hitting the pause button until you can catch up, the radio is on. We have some songs for you. Here's to family and friends. Here's to music. And here's to magic

IN TWO WEEKS: On December 19th, it's time for The 23rd Annual This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio Christmas Show
