This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 1190

The Flashcubes' incredible new album Pop Masters is due for release by the mighty Big Stir Records label in less than a month. Its latest digital single, a transcendent cover of the Motors' "Forget About You," is out this Friday, and so "Forget About You" opens this week's exciting edition of The Best Three Hours Of Radio On The Whole Friggin' Planet.

This isn't the first time we've played the Flashcubes' version of "Forget About You"--we've been delightedly fixated on most of the Pop Masters material, including the as-yet-unreleased gems--and it for damned sure won't be the last. This is a terrific, terrific album. "Forget About You" may be its best track.

There are twelve great songs (all covers) on Pop Masters. Prior to this week's show, we'd already played eleven of them. We'd been deliberately holding off on one more, just 'cuz. This week's final set kicks off with the sole Pop Masters track that's been MIA on TIRnRR, a superb rendition of Chris Stamey's "The Summer Sun."

And now, we've played 'em all! If you missed them, don't worry--they will spin again right here on this little mutant program. Radio's job is to sell records. A Cubic world is a better world for everyone. THE FLASHCUBES! And THIS, my friends, is what rock 'n' roll radio sounded like on another Sunday night in Syracuse this week.

This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio with Dana & Carl airs Sunday nights from 9 to Midnight Eastern, on the air in Syracuse at SPARK! WSPJ 103.3 and 93.7 FM, on the web at https://westcottradio.org/, and via the TuneIn Radio and Radio Garden apps as Westcott Radio.
